Praise the Lord for a total of 240 young adults from 19 urban churches in the Sabah Diocese joined the Chinese & English Diocesan Young Adult Camp 2009 at Awana Genting Highlands Goft and Country Resort from 21st – 23rd September 2009. The theme for the camp is “Living Out God’s Purpose”. The camp began with a powerful message in the opening session by Archdeacon John Yeo where a lot responding to God to serve Him full time and willing to allow God to mould them to accomplish His purpose in their life. Rev Lin Khee Vun (Chinese) and Ps Moses Afful (English) expounded the Scriptures and sharing their own personal life stories in the respective sessions. In the closing session and challenge, all the participants were sent home with a mission to “Go home [to your family] and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how He has had mercy on you.” (Mark 5: 19) Many came forwarded to be blessed and to be sent out with the purpose that God has laid upon them. They are to win the next generation of young adults which are the youth and children today in their respective churches and communities. Indeed, this camp provided a golden opportunity for the Young Adults in our Diocese to come together, stay together, worship together, eat together, learn together, share together and study together the Word of God with the very purpose to “Live Out God’s Purpose” in their life. There is saying in this camp, “We are a bunch of desperate young adult desperately searching out for love; and that love is Jesus and we found Him!”
